Serenity Smart Homes ("we," "our," or "us") provides consulting, planning, design, installation, and related services for smart home and smart property automation, as well as complete hardware packages and products. These Terms & Conditions outline the terms of purchase and service delivery for all our offerings.
1. Services & Products Provided
Serenity Smart Homes offers the following:
Professional Services:
- Blueprint Services – Written recommendations for devices, placement, and setup following consultation
- Diagnostic Services – Professional assessment of existing smart home/property automation systems
- Full Installation Services – Complete design, sourcing, installation, and configuration of smart home systems
- Consultation Calls – Complimentary introductory consultations to determine service fit
Hardware Packages & Products:
- Complete System Packages – Pre-configured hardware kits including all necessary components for specific smart home functions (water protection, surveillance, access control, etc.)
- Professional Setup Assistance – 45 days of remote technical support included with hardware packages
- Optional Installation Services – On-site professional installation available separately
Important: Unless explicitly stated in your service agreement or product description, physical installation labor (mounting cameras, installing smart locks, valve installation, thermostat wiring, etc.) is quoted separately from hardware packages. Hardware packages include all listed components plus remote setup assistance, but not on-site installation labor.
2. Hardware Packages: Shipping, Returns & Product-Specific Terms
2.1 What's Included in Hardware Purchases
Hardware package purchases include:
- All hardware components listed in the package description
- 45 days of professional setup assistance (remote support via video call, phone, or email)
- Setup assistance includes guidance on device placement, system configuration, automation creation, alert setup, and user training
Installation labor is quoted separately. While many customers successfully install devices themselves with our guidance, professional on-site installation services are available at additional cost. Request an installation quote during your setup consultation.
2.2 Shipping & Delivery
- We ship to all 50 US states and Puerto Rico
- Most orders ship within 3-5 business days of purchase
- You will receive tracking information via email once your order ships
- Shipping times vary by location but typically range from 3-7 business days after shipment
- Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and package weight
- Free shipping may be available for orders over certain thresholds (indicated at checkout if applicable)
Local Pickup: Customers in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area can arrange free local pickup at our Cherry Hill, NJ office. Select "Local Pickup" at checkout and we'll contact you to schedule a pickup time.
2.3 Returns & Refunds for Hardware Packages
Return Window: You may return unopened hardware within 30 days of delivery for a refund, minus a 20% restocking fee.
Return Conditions:
- All items must be unopened and in original manufacturer packaging
- Items must be in new, resalable condition
- Original packaging, manuals, and all accessories must be included
- Opened items cannot be returned due to manufacturer warranty requirements
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error

Restocking Fee: A 20% restocking fee applies to all hardware returns to cover payment processing fees, shipping costs, inventory inspection, and repackaging. For example, a $2,000 order would receive a $1,600 refund ($2,000 minus $400 restocking fee).
Non-Returnable Items: Professional setup assistance (45-day support period) is non-refundable once services have begun, as this represents time invested by our technical team.
Refund Processing: Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days of receiving and inspecting returned merchandise. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
2.4 Order Cancellation for Hardware
Orders can be cancelled for a full refund if cancellation is requested within 24 hours of purchase and before the order has shipped. Once an order has shipped, standard return policies apply. Contact info@serenitysmarthomesnj.com immediately if you need to cancel an order.
2.5 Compatibility & Technical Requirements
All packages are designed to work as integrated systems. However, individual property requirements may vary. We strongly recommend scheduling a free consultation before purchase if you have:
- Unusual HVAC configurations or proprietary systems
- Non-standard door thicknesses or lock requirements
- Complex property layouts or extreme range requirements
- Existing smart home systems you want to integrate
- Special security or access control needs
Internet Requirements: While systems operate locally without internet, remote access requires a broadband internet connection with open ports or VPN capability (which we help configure during setup). Contact us for help with temporary or project-specific broadband internet needs.
3. Professional Services: Payments, Booking & Refunds
3.1 Payments & Pricing
- All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD) and are subject to applicable taxes
- Payment is due at the time of booking or purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing
- For full installation services, consultation fees may be applied as a deposit toward the total project cost
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order if fraud or unauthorized use is suspected
- Prices are subject to change without notice, but will be honored for confirmed bookings
3.2 Booking & Scheduling
- Consultations must be booked and completed within 90 days of purchase unless otherwise specified
- Appointments may be rescheduled with 48 hours' advance notice
- Missed appointments or cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may result in forfeiture of the session without refund
- We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances
3.3 Refunds & Satisfaction Guarantee for Services
- Service purchases are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing or under a specific guarantee
- For Personalized Blueprints: If, after your blueprint session(s) and receipt of your personalized recommendations, you believe the service provided no value, you may request a full refund within 7 days of service delivery. As part of our commitment to improvement, we ask that you schedule a brief feedback call (approximately 15 minutes) prior to the refund being processed. You may keep all materials provided.
- For Consultation Calls: These are complimentary services with no refund applicable
- No refunds are available for missed, expired, or unredeemed bookings due to client scheduling conflicts
- Installation services have separate terms outlined in individual project agreements
3.4 Service Delivery & Timeline
- Consultation reports and recommendations will be delivered within 5-7 business days of your session
- Installation timelines are provided in separate project agreements and may vary based on scope and complexity
- We are not responsible for delays caused by factors outside our control, including but not limited to: weather, supply chain issues, or client-side preparation delays
4. Installation Services (On-Site Professional Labor)
On-site professional installation is available within our service area (New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania) at additional cost for both hardware packages and custom projects. Installation services are quoted separately based on:
- Property location and distance from Cherry Hill, NJ
- Complexity of installation (mounting requirements, wire runs, etc.)
- Number of devices requiring physical installation
- Any necessary materials not included in the package (mounting hardware, conduit, ball valves, etc.)
Request an installation quote during your setup consultation. Installation includes on-site device mounting, wiring, testing, and in-person training.
5. Warranty & Support
5.1 Manufacturer Warranties (Hardware Packages)
All hardware components are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties (typically 1-3 years depending on the product). Warranty claims should be directed to the manufacturer. We're happy to help you navigate warranty processes during your support period.
5.2 Professional Setup Assistance (Hardware Packages)
Hardware package purchases include 45 days of expert technical support beginning from your delivery date. This includes help with installation guidance, device configuration, troubleshooting, automation setup, and system optimization.
Extended Support: After your initial 45-day period, ongoing support and system maintenance services are available on an hourly or retainer basis. Contact us for current rates.
5.3 Installation Workmanship Warranty
- We provide services according to industry standards and our professional expertise developed over 20+ years in technology and cybersecurity
- We are background checked, bonded, and insured for installation services in our service areas
- Installation workmanship is covered for 30 days from completion
- Installed equipment carries manufacturer warranties; we facilitate claims but do not extend coverage beyond manufacturer terms
- Optional extended warranties are available for procured hardware and installation
6. Limitation of Liability
- We provide design, planning, consulting services, and hardware products based on industry best practices and our professional expertise
- While we carefully curate professional-grade components and provide expert setup guidance, we are not liable for:
- Damages resulting from improper installation or user error
- Property damage or loss that occurs despite properly functioning equipment
- Internet service outages or network connectivity issues
- Manufacturer defects (covered under manufacturer warranties)
- Acts of nature, power failures, or circumstances beyond our control
- Damages, losses, or insurance outcomes resulting from client implementation of recommendations or customer-installed equipment
- Smart home technology enhances security and convenience but does not replace comprehensive insurance, professional security services, or common-sense safety practices
- Final responsibility for device purchase, installation, and ongoing maintenance rests with the client unless a separate installation contract is executed
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services or products
- Our total liability for any claim related to our services or products shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service or product in question
7. Privacy & Data
7.1 Privacy-First Architecture
All smart home systems we provide are designed with local control architecture:
- Your data stays on your local hub in your home
- We do not collect, store, or have access to your system data or home activity
- No corporate cloud services monitor your home or routines
- During setup assistance, we only access your system with your explicit permission and active supervision
- You maintain complete ownership and control of all equipment and data
7.2 Communications & Marketing
- By purchasing our services or products, you agree to receive service-related communications and may be added to our mailing list for updates and relevant offers
- You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes

8. Intellectual Property
- All content, materials, designs, and deliverables provided by Serenity Smart Homes remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Clients may use deliverables (such as consultation reports, Blueprints, and recommendations) for their own property or business use
- Clients may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit our materials without explicit written permission
- Client-provided information and property details remain the client's property and will be handled according to our Privacy Policy
9. Changes to Service, Products, or Terms
- We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time by posting an updated version on our website
- Significant changes will be communicated to existing clients via email when practical
- Continued use of our services or purchase of products after changes constitute acceptance of the modified terms
- Service and product specifications may be updated to reflect new technology or industry changes; confirmed bookings and orders will honor the terms in effect at the time of purchase
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles
- Any disputes arising from these terms or our services/products will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New Jersey
- We encourage clients to contact us directly to resolve any concerns before pursuing formal dispute resolution
